SOULRELIC Part Ways With TO/DIE/FOR Guitarist, Announce Replacement
January 2, 2006Finnish metallers SOULRELIC have parted ways with TO/DIE/FOR guitarist Antza Talala. The group's official statement on the matter reads as follows:
"Sometimes people might come to a conclusion that they no longer can go on in a deeper relationship. Same goes with this rock shit, and due to some personal conflicts within the band, SOULRELIC has decided to go separate ways with the guitarist Antza Talala. We still remain as friends, but we no longer can work together as a band.
"Antza's contribution [to] SOULRELIC will never be forgotten, and his work for the band will live forever with our first album 'Love Is A Lie We Both Believed'. Antza will continue his musical career with our friends in TO/DIE/FOR, and we wish him all the best with the future! And such a talent he is, we know his future will be bright.
"The new guitarist of SOULRELIC is Timo 'Tinke' Niemistö. He will make his first appearance wearing 'our shirt' in the next gig of SOULRELIC. We hope you all will welcome him with arms open wide and without any comparisons to his predecessor. Together with you, the fans, we hope to make 2006 even better than the previous year."
As previously reported, SOULRELIC will release their debut album, "Love is a Lie We Both Believed", in Japan on February 22, 2006 via Marquee Inc. The Japanese version of the CD will include a bonus track — a previously unreleased song called "Tears Are Home". The album, which was released in Finland on the Spinefarm label, was mixed by Hiili Hiilesmaa, who has previously worked with such acts as H.I.M., SENTENCED, MOONSPELL and THE 69 EYES.
SOULRELIC recently completed work on the "Tears of Deceit" video. The clip, which features Markku Peltola and Jutta Valkeinen (singer of the Finnish band PORNORPHANS) in the starring roles, is also included on the DVD that accompanied the December issue of the Finnish music magazine Soundi.
"Tears of Deceit" entered the Finnish single chart at position No. 13.
